Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

This eTrex Touch 35t allows me to swap batteries on the trail, great for long or multiple day rides. (The Edge 1000 dies after 12 hours.)
The eTrex Touch 35t can properly navigate routes I download into the GPS, giving me the proper direction and distance to each new waypoint. (The Edge 1000 failed to navigate properly, to the point of being dangerous if relying upon it when lost)
The screen of the eTrex is very clear, with large numbers.
The touch screen works fairly well.
It's much easier to change fields on the eTrex, just by touching the field.
The eTrex allows multiple bike configurations, with different fields for different bikes and riding I do. However, it sometimes needs help to find the new sensors when I switch bikes. I need to hit the "find new" buttons on the bike sensors.
I use the Edge 1000 at the same time now. The Edge is better at updating fields like climb grade faster, in a few seconds, versus about once a minute for the eTrex Touch 35t. The Edge also has a slightly larger screen and automatic back light in dark conditions. On the eTrex, I need to touch the screen to get the back light when dark.
Both units work great for uploading data. This eTrex Touch 35t is much better for navigation off road in remote locations. In contrast the Edge 1000 will point you in the wrong direction. I have a more extensive review with pictures on forums.mtbr.com. Just search for eTrex 35t.
The advertisement for the 100k package is a SALES leader.... The Data is REALLY 4-6 years OLD and they are forcing us to buy the regional 24k packages ($100s) to get current MAPS....
CHAT with GARMIN rep:
" While the TOPO Us 24k is more detailed, this is generally referring to more frequent TOPO lines. The road information is the same. However, the TOPO 24k was created more recently, within the last 1.5 years. Whereas TOPO 100k may be as much as 4-6 years old. "
SALES PRICE with 100k advertisement is just a selling leader (Garmin SHOULD OFFER updated maps with a NEW purchase like every other software package I have purchased, then I will expect to buy updates every couple years....) ......... Per CURRENT Garmin Policy...... BE PREPARED to immediately spend $100s MORE if you want current maps.

pros:
pantalla tactil
